Sono proporzionalmente tra i predatori più possenti; di sicuro non c'era alcun altro teropode che possedeva una tale combinazione di armamento sui piedi, le mani, e la testa... Tra i tetrapodi, solo ''Tyrannosaurus'', con la sua forza estrema nel cranio, uguaglia ''[[Velociraptor]]'' in possanza totale relativo al peso.
