La mia migliore amica, che oggi è la mia assistente, passava le giornate insieme a me su YouTube cercando beat che spaccassero. È così che ho fatto il mio primo mixtape, Rich Ratchet. Poi ho iniziato a frequentare uno studio di registrazione e lavorare con DJ Chose, che ancora oggi mi manda le sue basi. Non esiste un mio progetto in cui non ci siano delle basi di DJ Chose. Non sono il tipo di persona che ha bisogno di. te solo per qualche mese. Se ti voglio nella mia vita, ti ci voglio per un bel po' di tempo.

I didn’t tell anybody that I wanted to rap when I was in high school. But when I got to college I was like, nobody knows me. I’m going to just tell them I’m a rapper and they’re just going to have to go with that. So my best friend, who’s now my assistant, we would just be on YouTube together all the time, going through beats. That’s how I made my first mixtape, Rich Ratchet. Then I started going to the studio and working with DJ Chose, he still sends me beats. I don’t have a project out there that doesn’t have a DJ Chose beat on it. I’m not the type of person that just needs you for a season. If I want you in my life, you’re going to stay in my life.^[1]
