José Néstor Pekerman (1949 – vivente), ex calciatore e allenatore argentino.

• La gente sa che tipo di calcio gioca l'Argentina perché c'è Riquelme. È una vera e propria dichiarazione d'intenti. Ho visto pochissimi giocatori con la stessa capacità di Riquelme di leggere la partita. Lui è uno di quei giocatori che oramai sono in via d'estinzione. Il calcio sta producendo giocatori elettrificanti, dei velocisti, ma sta perdendo il tipo di giocatori che sanno realmente quello che stanno facendo.

People know what game Argentina play because we have Riquelme. It's a declaration of intent. [...] I've seen very few players with Riquelme's capacity to understand the game. He's one of those players who are disappearing from the game. Football is producing electrifying players, speed merchants. But it's losing the type of player who really knows what he's doing.
