• Mi sono sempre identificato con Don Knotts. Eppure le persone mi scambiano sempre per Steve Buscemi. E quando l'ho detto a Steve Buscemi lui ha risposto: "E invece mi scambiano per Don Knotts". [...] Io comunque ho sempre pensato che Don Knotts e Mick Jagger fossero uguali. [...] Ho una collezione a tema Don Knotts. Ho un'opera d'arte intitolata "Autoritratto" in cui mi trasformo in Don Knotts.

I always identified with Don Knotts. People always think that I'm Steve Buscemi, and I told Steve Buscemi that. He said, "They think I'm Don Knotts." [...] I always thought that Don Knotts and Mick Jagger looked exactly the same to me. [...] I have a Don Knotts collection. I do have an art piece called "Self Portrait" where I turn into Don Knotts in it.

• [Risposta alla domanda "Quale pensi che sia il fascino della violenza rappresentata sullo schermo?] Di certo è eccitante perché non sta capitando a te, ma a qualcun altro. Tutti, in un certo senso, vogliamo uccidere qualcuno. Ma non lo facciamo davvero. [...] Avrei un milione di motivi per uccidere qualcuno. Soprattutto per come si veste per prendere l'aereo. Avrei potuto essere condannato per venti omicidi se avessi avuto l'occasione di far fuori tutte le persone con outfit terribili che ho visto durante questo tour. [...] Nessuno vuole vedervi mezzi nudi, in pigiama o con la vostra tuta pezzata di sudore. Nessuno vuole sentire la vostra puzza o vedere le vostre gambe pelose e coperte di croste.

Certainly it's exciting and it's better if it didn't happen to you but happens to somebody else. Everybody, in a way, feels like killing people. They just don't. [...] I have millions of things I could kill people for. Especially how people dress on airplanes today. I could have been convicted of 20 murders if I could have offed the people that I saw in the most appalling outfits on airplanes on this book tour. [...] No one wants to see you naked or you in your pajamas or in your workout uniform with the sweat stains and B.O. and hairy, scabby legs.

• Ho reso il trash più rispettabile del 5%. È per questo che sono su questa Terra. Ora, quando si dice "trash" le persone si fermano a pensare "È una cosa positiva o no?"

I've made trash .5% more respectable. That's why I was put on this Earth. Now when you call somebody trash, people pause and think, "Is that good or bad?"

• A morte Hollywood è uno di quei film che scelgo quando devo fare delle apparizioni perché mi fa ancora ridere, è così cinematograficamente scorretto! Eppure penso che ci sia molta più necessità di vedere questo film piuttosto che uno di quegli sconosciuti film hollywoodiani da 100 milioni di dollari che guadagnano 100 miliardi in Cina.

Cecil B. Demented is the one I always pick when I have to appear somewhere because it makes me laugh still just because it's, I don't know, it's cinematically incorrect. Although, today I think we would need Cecil B. Demented more than ever with these $100 million Hollywood movies that I've never heard of that make $100 billion in China.

• Questi sono i tempi migliori. Al giorno d'oggi gli universitari non dovrebbero studiare. Dovrebbero protestare. Abbiamo nuovamente bisogno degli Yippies. Abbiamo nuovamente bisogno di usare l'umorismo come un'arma terroristica per mettere in imbarazzo il nemico. E abbiamo anche il nemico perfetto che ci casca.

I think it's the best time. I think college students shouldn't be studying today. You should be out marching. I think we need Yippies again. We need humor as terrorism to embarrass the enemy, and we have a perfect enemy that rises to the bait.
