Mi piace la privacy, essere disinibito in termini di movimento ed esplorazione del tuo corpo, facendo semplicemente quello che ti piace. Ricordo che quando ero al college alla Cal Arts, avevano queste stanze dove si entrava lì, c'era uno specchio e si chiudeva a chiave la porta e lì si poteva semplicemente fare tutto ciò di cui si voleva fare. Godere la libertà della privacy totale. Come persona creativa, devi avere quello spazio in cui sei solo libero. Non sei autocosciente, nessuno ti sta guardando, nessuno ti guarderà.

I like privacy, to be uninhibited in terms of moving and exploring your body and stuff, just doing whatever you feel like. Quando ricevo una sceneggiatura, devo dire che non ci ragiono troppo. Cerco solo di entrare nelle motivazioni del personaggio, di chi è e di cosa sta facendo e di provare a dire la verità e lasciare che le persone pensino a cosa penseranno. Non mi occupo di psicoanalisi dell'aspetto più ampio delle cose, necessariamente. Cerco di farlo solo a un livello molto umano, viscerale.

When I get a script, I’ve got to say, I don’t really intellectualize it too much. I really just try to get into the motivations of the character and who he is and what he’s doing and try to tell the truth and let people think what they’re going to think about. I don’t get into psychoanalyzing the larger aspect of things, necessarily. I try to just do it on a very human, visceral level.^[1]
